Lambeth Method Techniques Workshop #2 - Wk After San Diego ICES Convention (FULL)
NOTE: This is the workshop for the students who can only attend 1, 2 or 3 days of the 4 day workshop after the San Diego ICES Convention. Each day is $150. Class size is limited, pre-registration is required. Thank you!
Kathleen will be teaching the Old-World Joseph Lambeth Method, while modernizing with her own techniques and methods.
This course is based on the work of Joseph Lambeth. Lambeth Method is one of the oldest English forms of cake decorating in the world. The exacting nature of the intricate over-piping and other Lambeth Method techniques; provide the ultimate challenge to make this design work the realm of only the most dedicated cake designers.
Throughout this workshop you will be working with royal icing. You will be learning precision cake dividing techniques and piping work, known as the Lambeth Method. This technique will help any cake design artist achieve the most elegant cakes for their portfolio.
Learn to be exact in every squeeze of the bag, how to make a perfect stringwork, zig-zags, shells, puffs and string of pearl borders with decorating tips. Learn to apply stringwork, ring border, cushion work and lace work by hand and how to apply and complete at least four different designs on your cake dummy, during the four day workshop and on your display board for examples amd future practice.
Each student will need to bring 1-10" Cake Dummy on 14" Bevel/Drum Base; if traveling you may bring 1- 10" or 12" Cake Dummy with no bevel; covered with white or ivory rolled fondant and box to take cake home. All other frosting, decorating supplies and lunch will be provided during classes.
If unable to bring cake dummy covered with fondant, please let Kathleen know; she will provide one for an extra charge.
