Lambeth / Lange Method Master Course (FULL) $150.00Class No. 2031

Prerequisite: Intermediate/Advanced and covering rolled fondant cake skills required. If you have some knowledge in making shells, zig zags and stringwork, then you can learn the Lambeth Method design work.
This is an awesome class! The English Lambeth over-piping is becoming a real POPULAR TECHNIQUE again. If you want to master the English Lambeth Method Style; Kathleen is the only instructor who teaches a complete 150 hour course.
To complete the entire course; each session will be 5 weeks; a total of 10 sessions to complete the entire 150 hour course. After completing this course; students decorating skills will most definitly improve; with practice, practice and more practice.
Kathleen will be teaching the Old-World Joseph Lambeth Method, while modernizing with her own techniques and methods.
This course is based on the work of Joseph Lambeth. The Lambeth Method is an English method; one of the most distinguished forms of cake decorating in the world, since the late 1800s. The exacting nature of this intricate 3 dimensional over-piping and other Lambeth Method techniques provide the ultimate challenge, for the most dedicated cake design artist. Throughout the course, each student will be working on a rolled fondant covered cake dummy; with gum paste and royal icing. Students will be learning precision piping, to help in future decorating skills; learn to be exact in every squeeze of the bag, making hundreds, if not thousands of frosting, gum paste flowers and lace work by hand, to complete several designs on cake dummies, covered with rolled fondant.
Each 5 week session, students will complete one or two cake designs with famous Lambeth design work; the basket of roses, ship cake, petunia wedding cake, lattice cushion work, ring border with trellis and several other famous designs known as Lambeth cakes.
Supplies extra; students will be required to bring their own cake dummy & bevel covered with rolled fondant; 1-2 per 5 week session. Kathleen's Royal Icing recipe, basic decorating tips and parchment triangles. Supply list will be available, when registering for class. Register Now!

In this one day class, students will learn what flowers you can and cannot use on a cake; how to wire fresh flowers, make ribbon and tulle tuffs and learn to make a small bouquet, boutineer and coursage spray.

Basic Lambeth Techniques will be covered during the two day boot camp; students will be working with special royal icing recipes, provided by Kathleen.
Students attending Lambeth 101 will be learning the following:
How to hold the bag and tips properly, To be exact with every squeeze of their decorating bag How to master the perfect zigzag shell, scroll, swag and puffs borders, 3 dimensional over-piping techniques, Bead/pearl borders, Stringwork, How to apply stringwork, All of which will be added to their cakes!
Each student will be completing at least four sections on their individual cake dummy, learning six to eight different borders /designs or more - full completion of everything taught during the class time will depend on your speed and prior decorating experience. Students may not finish everything, but will have a chance to try everything and learn the proper method for creating the designs. Supply List -
1-10" Cake Dummy on a 14" Bevel, covered with rolled fondant color of your choice. (*See Note) 100-150 - 1/4" size or smaller royal icing apple blossoms, made with a tip Wilton size #101s or gum paste flowers, color of your choice; three shades if color will be used. Turntable - Elevated or Tilting, you are comfortable working with during decorating. Students please bring a sack lunch and preferred drinks to each class.
All other supplies, tips, bags and frosting will be provided by Kathleen to complete your project. *(Note)Cake Dummies & bevel may be pre-ordered through Kathleen, prior to class for an extra charge of $30. Full payment will be required for all Boot Camps and non-refundable, due to prep work and Kathleen's out of town scheduled classes. Student may transfer a class to another student; arrangements must be made on their own and notify Kathleen of any changes.
